Our patented technology, NEXT^TM, is a chemically made internal brace formed by injection of a crosslinking agent which immediately adds mechanical support to the tendon or ligament. This brace prevents further propagation of the lesion, provides better, stronger healing, and results in the horse returning to full work significantly faster.

Injuries to tendons and ligaments of the legs can affect up to 30% of competitive and 16% of working horses. In 2008 the horse population was estimated to be over 9.8 million in the US alone and therefore represents a substantial market for a therapeutic product in this area.

The classical therapeutic strategy for ligament and tendon injuries is to reduce inflammation and maintain blood flow while allowing the animal to rest. Inflammation is controlled by icing the affected area and by using both systemic and topical anti-inflammatory drugs while blood circulation is promoted by gentle exercise (walking).
